About the Author: Roger Emile Stouff is the son of Nicholas Leonard Stouff Jr., last chief of the Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana, and Lydia Marie Gaudet Stouff. He has been a journalist for 25 years and author of the award-winning column "From the Other Side" in the St. Mary and Franklin Banner-Tribune.  "Native Waters: A Few Moments In A Small Wooden Boat" is part autobiography, part historical retrospective of his people, and part outdoorsman memoirs. He currently resides on the Chitimacha reservation.
